Inkspell By: Cornelia Funke
Synopsis
A year has passed, but not a day goes by without Meggie thinking of Inkheart, the book whose characters came to life. For the fire-eater Dustfinger, the need to return to the tale has become desperate. When he finds a crooked storyteller to read him back, he abandons his apprentice Farid and plunges into the pages. Before long, Farid and Meggie are caught inside the book, too. But the story is much changed-and threatening to end tragically.
Review
Before I begin *Spoiler alert* please if you have not read Inkheart the first book, do NOT read this review it will contain information on Inkheart.
Inkspell continues on with the story of Inkheart a year later, Meggie, Mo (Silvertongue), and Resa all back at Elinor's house, but before long Dustfinger finds a way to get into the book. Leaving Farid behind he reaches out to Meggie, who can also read things out of books, seeing as she longed to see Inkheart as well, Meggie reads them both in.
The plot is quiet exciting with many new characters and old characters in the world of Inkheart. Some expected-yet surprising romances. The only thing that I didn't like about Inkspell was the telling and not so much showing like Inkheart, other than that I loved this book.
Other little things that I really liked are the quotes on every chapter, the map of the Inkworld, and the Character index I guess you could call it, describing the important characters of the book.
I give Inkspell a 4.5, because it is truly and Inkspell.

Beautiful by Amy Reed
When Cassie moves from the tiny town where she has always lived to a suburb of Seattle, she is determined to leave her boring, good-girl existence behind. This is Cassie’s chance to stop being invisible and become the kind of girl who’s worth noticing.
Stepping into her new identity turns out to be easier than Cassie could have ever imagined…one moment, one choice, changes everything.
Cassie’s new existence both thrills and terrifies her. Swept into a world of illicit parties and social landmines, she sheds her virginity, embraces the numbness she feels from the drugs, and floats through it all, knowing that she is now called beautiful. She ignores the dangers of her fast-paced life…but she can’t sidestep the secrets and the cruelty.
Cassie is trapped in a swift downward spiral tinged with violence and abuse, and no one—not even the one person she thought she could trust—can help her now.
Review
This is the story of how sassy Cassie steps into her new identity with some help from her "friend" Alex. Narrated by Cassie herself (which I think was BRILLIANT) Reed does not fail to show us the vivid picture, the raw emotions and the all to real plot. It's amazing how anyone that is or was a teen can relate to this in some way, trying to get rid of their goodie-goodie reputation or trying to get rid of their drug addict one. Definitely an amazing read! I truly recommend this book to all teens.
I give this book a 5 out of 5! (:

Looks By: Madeleine George
Summary
I give this book a 3 for it's great description and feel of the suffering and hurt, but it wasn't that interesting.
Despite her massive size, Meghan Ball is the most invisible person at Valley Regional High. People say things in front of her as if she doesn't exist. And most of the time, she feels like she doesn't - until Meghan sees Aimee Zorn. Aimee is as skinny as Meghan is large, and as outwardly angry as Meghan is inwardly sad. Meghan instantly recognizes a kindred spirit in Aimee, another person using her body to say what she cannot. Alone, they are powerless, but together, Meghan and Aimee join forces to get sweet revenge against the one girl in school who hurt them both.
Review
Well, let's start with how I got this book, a cheap whatever-book, that was in sale. I didn't expect much, and yet I did expect too much. Looks, takes you into the life of Aimee Zorn and Meghan Ball. One fat, one skinny. Madeleine did an amazing job in catching the suffering and hurt of the two girls due to their eating disorders. I do think she did very well on that, however the tone of the book, was a bit slow, and the climax was not until the last 3 chapters something like that. I did breeze through the book, but I still didn't love it it was O.K. I give this book a 3 for it's great description and feel of the suffering and hurt, but it wasn't that interesting.

Linger By: Maggie Stiefvater
Linger the second installment of the Wolves of Mercy Falls Series. A #1 New York Times bestseller! Hmm so many things to tell about this book, but before I begin *SPOILER ALERT* if you have not read shiver the first book in this series, please do not read on!
Summary
the longing.
Once Grace and Sam have found each other, they know they must fight to stay together. For Sam, this means a reckoning with his werewolf past. For Grace, it mean a future that is less and less certain.
the loss.
Into their world comes a new wolf named Cole, whose past is full of hurt and danger. He is wrestling with his own demons, embracing the life of a wolf while denying the ties of being a human.
the linger.
For Grace, Sam, Cole, life is a constant struggle between two forces-wolf and human- with love baring its two sides as well. It is harrowing and euphoric, freeing and entrapping, enticing and alarming. As their world falls apart, love is what lingers. But will it be enough?
Review:
As the second book of The wolves of Mercy Falls, there is a lot to expect. Although this book was well written, and the characters, were still the same, I feel as though the first book was better. Maybe its just expectations.
So the story continues pretty much where it left off Sam and Grace as in love as ever, except Sam is now a permanet human, or so we think.... Just think about that when you finish the book. Grace is struggling with something which I'm not going to tell you sorry that would be a spoiler. Of I almost forgot you met a new wolf named Cole, which I believe you read a bit about in the first book, so his story continues. And then there is Isabel, after her brother died she has felt a weird connection to Grace, Sam and the whole wolf idea. I have to admit I do li love the new charcter Cole, he is charming, funny and ingenious.
I give this book a 3, because it didn't live up to Shiver, the plot was not complex enough and the action was at the end and took a while to get to.

Awaken by: Katie Kacvinsky
Maddie lives in a world where everything is done on the computer. Whether it’s to go to school or on a date, people don’t venture out of their home. There’s really no need. For the most part, Maddie’s okay with the solitary, digital life until she meets Justin. Justin likes being with people. He enjoys the physical closeness of face-to-face interactions. People aren’t meant to be alone, he tells her.
Suddenly, Maddie feels something awakening inside her a feeling that maybe there is a different, better way to live. But with society and her parents telling her otherwise, Maddie is going to have to learn to stand up for herself if she wants to change the path her life is taking.
In this not-so-brave new world, two young people struggle to carve out their own space.
Review
First off this is the first book I have read with my Kindle, which I think is pretty cool! I'm still debating wether the kindle or real books are better though. Ok on to the review,This is the Story of Maddie and Justin as told by Maddie. You see Maddie lives in the year 2060, where everything is virtual, even school thanks to her Father. Maddie has always been a little resiliant to the whole thing, and got into some trouble for it. Then Justin, who is my faveorite character, comes into the picture telling her that she was right live shouldnt be lived in front of computer screens, and teaches her all about the secret societys and awakens her.
I love this book at first it took me a while to get into, because the beggining was a bit slow, which I think frankly happens in most books. Its was one of those books that once you get into there is no going back, you just have to finish it. Perhaps all teenagers should read this, to show them the dangers of technology.
Awaken gets a 4 out 5.

Inkheart the movie
Imagine being able to read aloud, and objects and or creatures appear. Wouldn't it be amazing if this could happen to you? Well this is what happens to Meggie and her father Mo. They have a soecial gift, the ability to read anythi out of a book.
However when Mo accidently reads Capricorn out of Inkheart, trouble begins as Mo and Meggie try to get him back into the book.
I do not think the movie was good, it was too open ended and you do not know many of the battle that the characters have with themselves, compared to the book I Prefer the book. The movie was open ended. The acting was ok, and the plot was tweaked a little too much. Over all I did NOT like this movie.
I give this movie a 3, because it just didn't live up to the book. Which is one of my faveorites..

Inkheart By: Cornelia Funke
Synopsis
One cruel night, Meggie's father reads aloud from InkHeart, and an evil ruler named Capricorn escapes the boundaries of fiction and lands in their living room. Suddenly, Meggie is smack in the middle of the kind of adventure she has only read about in books. Somehow, Meggie must learn to harness the magic that has conjured this nightmare. Only she can change the course of the story that has changed her life forever. A timeless tale about books, about imagination, about life. Dare to read it aloud!
Review
This is the first book in the InkHeart triology, and it is also now a major motion picture, which i will review later. I picked this book up at I think a book fair and I just needed to own it simple as that!
This is the story of Meggie, the shy bookworm and her father the bookbinder, who later becomes know as Silvertongue, becuase this rare gift or according to him curse, you see when he reads alound the words leap off the page and become real, characters things anything.
Unfortunately he can't control what goes in or what comes out. This time Resa his wife goes in and Capricorn, the ruler of Inkheart, Baptista his second in command, which I refer to as the knife psycho. Plus the poor firebender Dustfinger who wishes nothing more than to go back to the pages of Inkheart.
After years of running, Mo finally manages to get caught by Capricorn, who wants to use his powers for dark things, and maybe Meggie as well?
Inkheart, in my opnion is simply brilliant, it was one of my first "Big" books, and it sort of made me fall in love with reading. I hope everyone likes it as much as I do. I give Inkheart a 5 out of 5.
